So today is the day that some people forget, where some people fail to take just a few moments out of their busy schedule to pay respects or to ever wear-a-poppy! I know a lot of people will complain about how patriotic I am or how stupid it is to get all bent out of shape about something like this. Let me just say: were you getting off your ass to fight in wars that other men and women stood up to fight where others stood down? Even wearing a poppy or at 11:00 giving a moment of silence is respectful.
I honestly don't think I've ever been more proud of my father than all the times I have seen him in his parade uniform. It kinda makes me want to get up and enlist. I went to the Remembrance Day parade in Frankford and I did much better than last year! YAY for me! I actually didn't cry until AFTER the bagpipes :] I balled at O Canada and straight into 'The Last Post' song. The military has been in my family for a few generations and I am proud to say that I'm darned proud of my grandparents and my pops
My grandfather flew in a B52 Bomber plan in WWII. He was the 'gunman' per say and a boxer before that. He was shot down; pilot was barely alive and my grandpa wasn't in much better shape. They were rescued and sent to a hospital, where he met my grandmother. Sgt. Gorden Johnson was from England but lived in Newfoundland till his wife's death. Who said Newfoundlander's were only good at catching fish bye!? My pop's, in 3 more years will have been in the Infantry for 30 years. Woooooow long eh? Many tours, two of which were to Afghanistan which I wish he never went on.
I know that everyday I think about my friends parents who were killed in Afghanistan and all the soldiers who suffer everyday from the chains of their horrible memories. I will be remembering all 167,000plus soldiers who fought and died; both in past and present. "They shall rise again in greater glory" lest we forget ♥

Benjamin: I hope you see things that startle you, you feel things you never felt before, you meet people with a different point of view, you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
